Mechanical Processing of Technical Springs

Mechanical processing of technical springs can have several reasons. On the one hand, it may be necessary to round off (deburr) the sharp edges (burr) produced during stamping in order to avoid cutting injuries when handling the part.

Furthermore, the end faces of technical compression springs are grinded to ensure a flat support in the assembly state. This allows the compression springs to be subjected to higher loads.

In order to be able to deburr even complex shapes, environmentally friendly plasma polishing is used.
This is an electrolytic process which gives anodically poled metallic parts a shine previously unattainable with classic polishing methods.

Vibratory Grinding

Vibratory grinding (tumbling / barrel finishing), also known as scouring, is used to remove cutting burrs or residues on technical springs. . A special application for this is vibratory finishing.

You can find an overview of the standard industrial springs we produce on the Technical Springs page.
